Recently there was a discussion on Consecration including its subtle ideas and intricacies that suggested many spiritual values to be followed. Generally, in all, it is suggested that we have to tell Mother and forget it, should not think about it, not take any initiative etc., But what about a person like me, who cannot be without taking initiative, without reaction, without thinking – in fact, I think even while sleeping. Is consecration – not for me?
Karmayogi says you can do all above. Only thing needed is change of direction. When you enter Karmayogi’s room, you can see a sticker “There is no Joy than the consecrated living. During a casual conversation, He said “Bagawan says Joy because it is the minimum we are assured and the bliss, delight, felicity, ecstasy etc after that”. can anyone even imagine those levels in life, let alone experience it.
Many a times, we used to say, we consecrated and felt Joy. But Karmayogi says it is only a relief as we transfer our burden to Mother. Whether the result gave the Joy really? He says Consecration gives unfailing success. In other words, after that, there will not be any problem, only progress pertains to that act. Is it a reality? And the result we get mostly is not unique to us. Many persons, non-devotees – without consecration – also get it too. There is no doubt that Mother devotees got more than they asked for. We ask for a degree, we got PHD. We asked for TVS 50 and got a big car. From house, groom, bride, business – in all areas, we have got more than we asked for and we say it is Mother or Grace. Is it really a Grace?
Karmayogi says – No. It is just what we call as luck. Life rewarding us for our devotion to Mother. He says if we can see our horoscope (we should not do that) after a success or failure, we can see that – all success said in that – came in multiples and all problems minimised as much as possible. That is the reward life can give and we all got that. After luck, there is Grace, then Mother’s Grace, Super Grace, Supramental Grace. Can we experience any of these?
Karmayogi says if a devotee has ten prayers – all ten should get sanctioned. That is Grace. Even if you get sanction for nine, it is not Mother – That is the level of conviction He has. We all are sure that not all our prayers are sanctioned and so there is nothing to boast on our consecration.
What we say as consecration is actually a prayer. In fact, asking for a desire to be fulfilled and got things done in our way, with all the ways, means and modalities suggested to Mother -by us as per our experience and knowledge.
Prayer or consecration will give result in the level of consciousness we are, level of our beliefs, faith and trust we have, our personality, particularly limitation of nature plays a big role in success of consecration.
To go to the basic, by general definition or in any religious parlance, consecration is making sacred. So that Divine can take that place. Karmayogi modified it slightly and says consecration is asking Mother to do for us or giving work to the hands of Mother. As the method differs in giving anything to a security guard to that of giving it to a Prime Minister, giving anything to Mother should have its own attributes as it is a Force of purity (Karmayogi defines purity as that which always sees the Divine Will) that is receiving. The principle is our Consecration or handing over should give a way for free flow of Divine Force or movement of Power.
The flow has a big barrier called on our nature, in attitude, prejudice, opinions, preferences, comforts all make dissipation of the Force, resulting only in partial success or may a times a failure in our view. Consecration always gives a situation, person, or atmosphere which our present personality cannot handle in the same level, and it wants us to come to one step higher from the lower level we are. It may be consciousness or even skill, capacity, attitude as the consecration has progress of consciousness built into it. Karmayogi says we can call even this as adventure of consciousness. Because creation of consciousness out of unconsciousness or ignorance is Joy. So, it is adventure. And so, Consecration is Joy.
We ignore those pleasures / pressures thinking that Mother will do everything for that. But in practical, it is a Force that understands the language of vibrations in us. Karmayogi asks – when you are the same person, with same attitudes and motives doing same thing in a same way, how can you expect a different result. He says that as “kayamai” (I do not know the exact English word – roughly it is meanness + filthiness mixed together).
By just watching what is presented to us during Consecration, He says we can develop insights, common sense, intuition to reach other yogic poises of Rishi, Muni, etc. It goes beyond the scope of this article and so I limit myself to the process of consecration.
Seeing all above is the process of consecration. He says for a sincere person, who wants Mother to act in him, it is just a formula like passing the exams or winning the election. It is so easy. Yes, we can find our level that we can start. Consecration has many levels from surface to subliminal to subconscious.
