Sri Karmayogi Says, “Ascent is of time. Descent is of timelessness.

When I gave a thought on that statement, I got some of the conception as follows:

Ascent is slow and steady progress. Descent is vast and fast progress. When ascent and descent meet there is simultaneous time. In simultaneous time progress is instantaneous and infinite.

How to put this concept in business and as individual?

Is it correct?

Please take it as layman’s point of view as my understanding of Life Divine theories and Sri Karmayogi’s writings are limited. My beliefs are based on implementing the values as spiritual skills and not on seeing why it happened.

First, what is timeless functioning in time?
We live in time, the past holds us in its grip. The future trying to grab us by continuously reminding of something. One who lives in ever present is timeless. But Life Divine gives one more dimension- timeless functioning in time. We call it as simultaneous time, also as supramental time. Living in supramental time is rising to the level of supramental being. To put all these in a layman’s phrase” we live in domestic life in time. A rishi in his trance state lives in timeless eternity. If the rishi chooses to live in domestic life with his exalted trance standards of timeless stillness, he is living in simultaneous time. For us life at home lived according to purity of yogic trance raises us to supramental time or even to supramental being.

Now what is Ascent and Descent?
Sri Karmayogi has given various angles in various writings. As this is to discuss the point of business and individual, we take knowledge and ignorance as basis.

In layman’s view miraculous results can be visualized as meeting of unconscious element with conscious element at any given moment -to release the energy or force that makes the advancement thousand-fold. So when we start from here we understand as consciousness emerging out of unconsciousness is ascent. Conscious changing unconsciousness into consciousness is descent.

In the ascent unconsciousness is passive – letting the consciousness emerge. In the descent unconsciousness – actively transforms itself into consciousness. The force released in the process is what creates miraculous results.

To further simplify this we can say we need a transformation from our being to supramental being. Because as the descent is constant process of Brahman to experience the Aanandha-the pressure of the descending force compels the member-body-vital-mind-to transform. As the sprit is now buried in the parts of vital and mind, the descending spirits compels the buried sprit to aspire for transformation.

What is the meeting of Ascent and Descent?
In our level man moving from physical to mental to spiritual is ascent. His mind working on body and vital is descent. The decent is in subtle plane. The ascent is in gross plane. Ascent is time. Descent is timeless. Where these two meet is simultaneous time. Ascent is conscious. Descent is subconscious. They meet in super conscious which is spirit. Ascent is in super mind. Descent is in inner mind. They meet in subliminal mind which is knowledge.

For me as an individual the ascent is from physical to Supermind via-vital-mental-spiritual. With analogical expressions in prosperity, status, net worth, skill, capacity, energy etc in multifold.

How to travel from physical to spiritual?
It has to be raised plane by plane. Physical energy raised cannot rise work beyond that plane. If vital energy is put into physical, it raises the work to vital plane. If these two are mixed with expression of good motive and creative ideas the work is raised to mental plane. If values- that we know as values of the sprit -are brought into that work it is taking that work to spiritual plane.

So- for me- “Gaining all attitudes and values of sprit is descent. Reversing all opposite tendencies to that is ascent. Because evolution is ascent. Involution is descent. Knowledge is descent. Ignorance is ascent. That is why ascent is slow and steady progress and descent is vast and fast progress”.

We understand a result as experience. We understand experience based on the efforts given by physical, vital, mental etc. we can say this as -by trial and error. If we think deeply, it is only trial for error, finding out the error to bring the success next time. So ignorance is ascent. But if a person arrives to guide with all resources, error free result will be there -even multifold than what we have done. This knowledge acting on our ignorance of the work- which is descent.

Similarly to get that miraculous result we have to get-that is knowledge of our Spirit -which has all the resources of Supermind. We generally don’t let out our character, ideas, and opinions when a knowledgeable person is involved in it. We even forget all those things for a while. We will be ready to receive all his attributes by not letting our ignorance into his way. In short we become ‘attributeless’ for a short period and make him to act.
