Generally, we assume higher consciousness all based on our own ethics and morality laws. What a law and rule for me cannot be same for others even to me at times.
Sri Karmayogi says all our higher consciousness, or all form of expansiveness extends to only few layers above -over and above our individual layer, then relationship layer and then sociological layer. Also, if we introspect properly – we can see, fear of brickbats, fear of losing, or longing for appreciation will be the base for that- all are spiritual values energized by ego. In real life we can see problem erupting only from those we take care, those we want to satisfy, those we help. Also misplaced good will, taking higher values than our plane of attitude, not knowing the whole truth, not having discrimination and wisdom required to the level all misfires though very well we can classify all this as attributes of higher consciousness.
He classifies what we call as Dharma as – infra-ethical, ethical, and supra-ethical.
He describes this ethics has only one level at a time. Human is a stage of a being during passage from the lower to the higher. Human has many levels and very level has own ethics and morals. The rule of Divine Ananda is to take always in favour of the higher. (Nala cannot take a keeping promise at the expense of wife and citizens). All levels of human are temporary. And so, ethics is also a temporary phenomenon.
If we create a philosophy or lifestyle based on our own known ethics, prejudice and opinions and stubbornness in following that is a half-evolved view. We have to see as infra-ethical, (values of our family, education, culture and brought up) ethical (social values) supra-ethical (supramental values). We have to see in that order even if that is going to affect our near and dear ones, our business, ego etc.
Sri Karmayogi says Sacchidananda seeks this satisfaction-which is true beginning of evolution. This is self-expression of Sacchidananda. This satisfaction is its delight.
For devotees this is the one act that opens to Infinity – The devotee’s choice at each moment will be crystal clear, between right and wrong to the Divine and not to any others. No rule of the Divine, small, or great on the way can be disregarded or flouted. Sri Karmayogi calls this as yogic common sense that gives yogic energy.
In rising from the finite below to the infinite above, we must note that as one moves his field of action from the physical, vital, mental, and so on, to Mother, his own efficiency rises several folds. The vital man is ten times more effective than the physical man; the mental man is hundred times more so than the vital man; the spiritual person is a thousand times more effective than the mental man. And finally, one who is acting from Mother’s consciousness is infinitely more powerful than the spiritual person. In life, we do often witness these changes, but they are unintentional and unconscious. Our plea is for a conscious, intentional rising above-to experience unfailing success and everlasting Ananda without any suffering.
